Jodi L. Perlman
Ms. Perlman has practiced law for over 20 years, specializing in corporate and transactional matters, employment law, real estate leasing and trademark and tradename law. She joined The Law Offices of Gary I. Fields in 2005 where she provides legal representation in various matters including shareholder, limited liability company and partnership agreements, buy/sell agreements, employment agreements and employee issues, real estate leases, finance documents, general corporate and organizational matters and procurement of trademark protection. Ms. Perlman has worked closely with the firm's clients assisting both medical and non-medical clients with the acquisition and disposition of businesses and professional health care practices, joint ventures, lease negotiations, regulatory compliance issues, financing transactions and buy-out arrangements.
Prior to joining The Law Offices of Gary I. Fields, Ms. Perlman was Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary to Maidenform, Inc. where she was responsible for general corporate and transactional work, as well as labor and employment matters, trademark issues and filings, and real estate leasing for this multi-national intimate apparel manufacturer. While at Maidenform, Ms. Perlman worked closely with senior management in the Company's human relations, marketing, sales, international distribution and real estate departments, providing counsel and assistance with various legal and corporate issues. Prior to joining Maidenform, Ms. Perlman practiced in the Corporate Department at Tenzer, Greenblatt, Fallon & Kaplan in New York City (which has since merged with Blank Rome, LLP), where she focused her attention on mergers and acquisitions, and as an associate in the general practice group at Reid & Priest, New York City, where she gained experience assisting international pharmaceutical companies regarding license and distribution agreements and public utility companies with regulatory compliance issues.
Ms. Perlman received her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University National Law Center, where she was the Book Review/Book Notes Editor of the George Washington Journal of International Law and Economics. She received an A.B. with distinction from The University of Michigan, where she was a James B. Angell Scholar.
Ms. Perlman is admitted to practice law in New York.
